Educational Resource Fund Allocation

Home Educating families are eligible for access to Educational Resource Funds each year they are enrolled through AVS.  The annual allotment of $1200 per child will be dispersed in two instalments. Families enrolled in Aurora Virtual School, as Home School students or as Fireweed students, can request to receive $600 at the beginning of the school year and $600 in January. Receipts will no longer be required for these funds; however, the expectation for the use of the funds will still follow the rule of thumb, “if it puts learning resources in the hands of students or provides specific lessons for skill development” it is a reasonable expense. Paying fees for membership in minor sports or clubs is still not acceptable. In case of an audit, receipts for the year should be kept in a handy file at home. These funds must be applied for each year and will only be paid after the student has begun their school program through AVS.

Please fill in and submit the Request For Educational Resource Funds after your school registration is complete (registration forms, home learning plans).  Students that are cross-enrolled to Home Education while still attending a Yukon school will only be eligible for 50% of the allocation.
